Hello! I’m Mara Lubell—

a niche slant towards fresh, high-energy retail brands & author identities.

I helped Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt soar from a solo mom ‘n pop shop to a 75-store and growing franchise. I’ve designed packaging for The Gap, websites & bookcovers for NY Times best-selling authors Emily Giffin & Jennifer Crusie, and signage for the San Francisco Giants Stadium.

I believe that smart is better than flashy, and that business and pleasure can play nicely together. Oh, you too? I’ve got a good feeling about this.

I founded Works Progress to create a space for me—and my stellar support team of coders, printers, and copywriters—to deliver top to tails design strategies for established brands and start-ups, alike. Clear visual communication doesn’t have to be boring or ugly, and the right visual gameplan can prompt serious progress.

In a previous life, I created websites for CNN.com, art directed photoshoots in Times Square for New York & Company, and created beautiful brand imagery for Newell Rubbermaid's Goody Products. Once, I designed a collection of handbags featured in NYC landmark boutique, Henri Bendel, boutiques in Japan, and that made their TV debut on The View. That was pretty swell.

Now for the fancy stuff: I graduated Cum Laude from The University of Georgia with a BFA in Graphic Design and I’ve got a small mantle full of awards & accolades from SEGD (Society for Environmental Graphic Design), GDUSA (American Graphic Design), the New York Book Show, and AIGA (The Professional Association for Design).

But enough about me. Let's talk about you...
